Effective Date: 16 December 2020

LaMetric Smart Device (the Device) is a smart internet connected device with limited input and output capabilities that is capable of displaying text messages sent by the LaMetric Cloud. You can find out more about LaMetric smart devices at https://lametric.com.

LaMetric Cloud (the Cloud) is a software that runs on LaMetric cloud infrastructure and provides services for LaMetric Smart Devices, LaMetric Website, LaMetric mobile clients, etc.

The App, LaMetric Cloud and LaMetric Smart Device is developed by Smart Atoms Limited (LaMetric) – a company incorporated under the laws of the United Kingdom. You can find out more about Smart Atoms Limited (LaMetric) at https://lametric.com/en-US/about

By using The App you also agree to the LaMetric Terms of Service, LaMetric Privacy-Policy, Slack Terms of Service and Slack Privacy Policy.

How We Access Your Data

When a Slack workspace administrator installs the App to a Slack workspace the Slack Service provides a one time code to LaMetric Cloud. The Code is then immediately exchanged for the Access Token (the Token), which gives access to the Slack API. The Token is then securely stored on the LaMetric Cloud.

After that slack user can link his/her Slack account to his/her LaMetric Account using ‘/lametric’ command by opening a unique configuration URL that is presented by the App.

The App receives messages from channels to which it was added and sends them to a LaMetric smart device.

In order to access Slack API, the App uses the following endpoints:

  • https://slack.com/api/chat.postEphemeral
  • https://slack.com/api/users.info
  • https://slack.com/api/users.conversations

How We Use Your Data

The App, while running on LaMetric Cloud is requesting the following Slack data (the Data):

Data associated with Slack account

  • Slack User ID – to let the App associate LaMetric Account and Slack Account.

Data associated with Slack Workspace

  • Slack Team ID – to let the App store its configuration per Slack Workspace
  • Slack Channel IDs and Channel Names – is used on configuration page on LaMetric Cloud to display a channel list to let you choose from which Slack Channels to receive notifications to a LaMetric Smart Device(s).

How We Store Your Data

Data associated with the Slack account and workspace is downloaded via secure SSL connection and stored in LaMetric Cloud’s database.

The Data is immediately deleted when

  • The Slack account is disconnected from the LaMetric account.
  • LaMetric Account is deleted

Data associated with messaging is not stored. Messages from a Slack channel are pushed to LaMetric Cloud by Slack and then immediately pushed to a LaMetric Smart Device without storing them to a persistent storage. LaMetric Smart Device only displays the message and does not store it to a persistant storage as well.

How We Handle Your Data

The data is not transferred to others. The App is not using the data for serving advertisements.

Revoke Access

If you decide to revoke access of the App to your Slack account you may use the “Configuration” tab of the “LaMetric” app page found at https://lametric.slack.com/apps/A452R7K17-lametric. Tap on the “Remove App” button to delete it from a workspace or “Revoke” to just revoke the access.
